This Data Deletion Policy explains how users can request deletion of personal information and other data associated with PP Expense (“PP Expense,” “the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
PP Expense is designed with an offline-first and privacy-focused architecture. Much of your financial information is stored locally on your device by default. Certain optional features, such as Google Sign-In, Google Drive backup, subscriptions, support, or other online services, may involve information being processed outside the device.
This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and Account Deletion Policy.
1. What Data Can Be Deleted?
Depending on how you use PP Expense, deletion may apply to different categories of information.
This may include:
- Account/profile information;
- Google Sign-In-associated account information;
- Transaction records;
- Expense records;
- Income records;
- Transfer records;
- Budgets;
- Categories;
- Tags;
- Payment-method preferences;
- App preferences;
- Workspace/account associations;
- Support information submitted by you;
- Subscription-related account information;
- Cloud-synchronized PP Expense data; and
- Other personal information that we control and that is eligible for deletion.
The exact data available for deletion depends on the features you have used and the information currently maintained by our systems or service providers.
2. Local Data Stored on Your Device
PP Expense is designed so that core financial information can be stored locally on your device.
Local data may include:
- Expenses;
- Income;
- Transactions;
- Budgets;
- Categories;
- Reports and related records;
- Notes and tags; and
- Other information created within the App.
Because this information may exist only on your device and may not be transmitted to our servers, we may not have direct access to it and may not be able to remotely delete it.
You can delete locally stored App data using the deletion/data-management functionality provided within PP Expense or through the appropriate Android device settings.
Important: Deleting local data is permanent unless you have a separate backup from which the data can be restored.
3. Account-Associated Data
If you use Google Sign-In or another account-based feature, PP Expense may maintain information associated with your account as described in our Privacy Policy.
You may request deletion of account-associated information by using the available account deletion process or by contacting us.
Account Deletion:
https://expense.ppapps.in/legal/account-deletion
If you request account deletion, we will delete or otherwise dispose of personal information that we control and that is eligible for deletion, subject to applicable law and legitimate retention requirements.
4. Google Sign-In Data
If you use Google Sign-In, we may process certain Google account information necessary to provide authentication and account-related functionality.
You can request deletion of PP Expense's account-associated information as described in this policy.
Deleting PP Expense data does not delete your Google Account.
Your Google Account remains under your control and is governed by Google's own terms and policies.
If you want to remove PP Expense's access to your Google account or revoke an authorization, you may also do so through Google's account-management controls.
5. Google Drive Backup Data
PP Expense may allow you to voluntarily back up or restore application data using your personal Google Drive account.
A Google Drive backup may contain information such as:
- Transactions;
- Expenses;
- Income;
- Budgets;
- Categories;
- Profile/application information; and
- Other information included in the backup generated by the App.
If you request deletion of cloud-synchronized PP Expense data, we will take reasonable steps to delete the applicable copies that we control or can technically initiate deletion of.
However, Google Drive is your personal cloud-storage account.
Depending on the implementation of the applicable Google Drive feature, permissions, and technical circumstances, you may also need to manually delete PP Expense backup files from your Google Drive.
You are responsible for reviewing and deleting any copies of exported or backed-up information that remain in locations under your control.
6. Exported Files and Manual Backups
PP Expense may allow you to export information in formats such as:
- JSON;
- CSV; or
- Other supported formats.
Once you export data to your device, computer, cloud storage, email, messaging application, or another location, that copy is outside the direct control of PP Expense.
Deleting your PP Expense account does not necessarily delete copies that you independently created or transferred elsewhere.
You are responsible for deleting such copies when they are no longer required.
7. Support Requests and Messages
If you contact PP Expense support, we may retain information contained in your support request where reasonably necessary to:
- Respond to your request;
- Investigate technical issues;
- Prevent abuse;
- Maintain support records;
- Resolve disputes; or
- Comply with legal obligations.
You may request deletion of personal information contained in support records, subject to applicable legal or operational retention requirements.
Please avoid including unnecessary financial information, passwords, OTPs, payment credentials, or other sensitive information in support messages.
8. Subscription and Payment Information
If you purchase a PP Expense subscription, certain payment and subscription information may be processed by our payment provider, including Razorpay, as necessary to process payments, verify transactions, manage subscription entitlements, prevent fraud, and meet legal or accounting obligations.
We may retain limited subscription or transaction information where reasonably necessary for:
- Subscription management;
- Payment verification;
- Refunds;
- Dispute resolution;
- Fraud prevention;
- Accounting;
- Tax obligations; or
- Legal compliance.
Deleting your PP Expense account does not necessarily require or result in deletion of information that a payment provider is legally required to retain.
Where information is held directly by a third-party payment provider, deletion requests may also be subject to that provider's policies and legal obligations.
9. Advertising and Diagnostics Data
PP Expense may use third-party services such as Google AdMob for advertising and may provide optional analytics or diagnostic functionality.
Certain technical or advertising-related information may therefore be processed by third-party providers according to their own policies and applicable settings.
Where such information is held directly by a third party, PP Expense may not be able to independently delete information that the third party is legally entitled or required to retain.
Requests concerning third-party information may need to be directed to the applicable provider where appropriate.
10. How to Request Data Deletion
You can request deletion of eligible personal information by contacting:
Email: [email protected]
Subject:
Data Deletion Request – PP Expense
Please provide enough information for us to identify your account or request.
For example:
- Name associated with the account;
- Email address associated with the account;
- Google account email used with PP Expense, where applicable;
- Relevant subscription/account identifier, where applicable; and
- A description of the information you want deleted.
Do not send passwords, OTPs, UPI PINs, CVV numbers, card numbers, or other confidential authentication/payment credentials.
11. In-App Deletion
Where PP Expense provides an in-app account or data deletion mechanism, you should use that mechanism whenever possible.
The exact location or appearance of deletion controls may change as the App is updated.
In-app deletion may allow you to delete information without contacting support.
12. Account Deletion vs. Data Deletion
Account deletion and data deletion are related but may not be identical.
Account deletion
Account deletion is intended to remove your account and eligible account-associated information.
See:
https://expense.ppapps.in/legal/account-deletion
Data deletion
A data deletion request may be used to request deletion of eligible personal information or specific categories of data.
See this policy or contact:
13. Verification of Deletion Requests
For security and privacy reasons, we may need to verify that a deletion request was submitted by the account holder or an authorized person.
We may request reasonable information necessary to verify your identity or account ownership.
We will not request confidential authentication credentials such as:
- Passwords;
- OTPs;
- UPI PINs;
- CVV numbers; or
- Full payment-card credentials.
If we cannot reasonably verify a request, we may be unable to complete the requested deletion until sufficient verification is provided.
14. Processing Time
We will process valid deletion requests within a reasonable period and in accordance with applicable law.
The time required may depend on:
- The type of information requested for deletion;
- Where the information is stored;
- Whether third-party service providers are involved;
- Verification requirements;
- Technical limitations; and
- Applicable legal retention obligations.
Where additional time or information is reasonably required, we may communicate with you using the contact information provided with your request.
15. Data That May Need to Be Retained
Deletion does not necessarily mean that every record can immediately be erased.
We may retain limited information where reasonably necessary or legally required for purposes such as:
- Compliance with applicable law;
- Tax and accounting obligations;
- Financial transaction records;
- Fraud prevention;
- Security;
- Legal claims or disputes;
- Enforcement of agreements;
- Regulatory requirements; or
- Establishing, exercising, or defending legal rights.
Where legally required information is retained, we will limit its use to the applicable purpose and retain it only for the period reasonably necessary or required by law.
16. Backups and Recovery Copies
Information may temporarily remain in technical backups, disaster-recovery systems, logs, or other backup infrastructure after a deletion request.
Where such copies cannot reasonably be immediately deleted, they will be isolated from ordinary use where appropriate and handled according to applicable retention and security practices.
Such information will not be retained indefinitely solely for ordinary business convenience.
17. Third-Party Services
PP Expense may rely on third-party service providers, including services associated with:
- Google Sign-In;
- Google Drive;
- Google AdMob;
- Razorpay;
- Hosting/infrastructure;
- Security;
- Analytics or diagnostics; and
- Other services necessary to operate PP Expense.
Where your information is processed directly by a third party, deletion may be subject to that provider's own policies, technical capabilities, and legal obligations.
Where appropriate, we may assist with deletion requests concerning information processed by our authorized service providers.
18. Deletion of Google Drive Backups
If you have created PP Expense backups in Google Drive, we recommend checking your Drive after completing account or data deletion.
Look for PP Expense backup files or folders and delete any copies you no longer require.
This is particularly important for:
- Manually created backups;
- Previously exported files;
- Copies moved to another Drive location;
- Files shared with other accounts; and
- Copies downloaded to another device.
Deleting PP Expense from your Android device does not necessarily delete files that you previously created in Google Drive.
19. Deleting the App
Uninstalling PP Expense from your Android device may remove locally stored application data according to Android's device behavior and your device settings.
However, uninstalling the App does not necessarily delete:
- Google account information;
- Google Drive backups;
- Exported JSON files;
- Exported CSV files;
- Subscription/payment records;
- Support communications; or
- Information maintained by third-party service providers.
If you want broader deletion, use the account/data deletion process described in this policy.
20. Effect on App Functionality
Deleting your account or certain data may permanently disable or affect features that depend on that information.
For example, deletion may result in loss of:
- Transaction history;
- Budgets;
- Categories;
- Account preferences;
- Cloud backups;
- Subscription/account associations; or
- Other stored information.
Please create and verify a backup before requesting deletion if you may need your financial records in the future.
21. Deletion Is Permanent
Once eligible data has been deleted, it may not be possible to recover it.
Before requesting deletion, you should ensure that you have retained any financial records you legally or practically need.
If you have an available JSON or CSV export, verify that it contains the information you require before deleting your data.
22. Privacy Rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights relating to your personal information, which may include rights to:
- Request information about processing;
- Request access to personal information;
- Request correction of inaccurate information;
- Request deletion or erasure where applicable;
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- Raise a privacy grievance; and
- Exercise other rights available under applicable law.
These rights may be subject to legal exceptions, verification requirements, and other applicable conditions.
For users in India, we handle applicable personal-data requests in accordance with relevant Indian data-protection and privacy requirements, including the Digital Personal Data Protection framework to the extent applicable and in force.
23. No Sale of Financial Data
We do not sell your PP Expense financial records.
Your locally stored financial data is designed to remain on your device unless you intentionally use a feature that transfers, backs up, exports, or otherwise shares that information.
Optional features such as Google Drive backup and user-initiated exports may result in your information being stored outside the App.
Please refer to our Privacy Policy for complete information about data processing and third-party services.
24. Children and Deletion Requests
If a parent or legal guardian believes that personal information belonging to a child has been collected or processed inappropriately, they may contact us at:
We will review the request and take appropriate action as required by applicable law.
25. No Effect on Other Accounts
Deleting your PP Expense account does not delete or affect unrelated accounts you may have with:
- Google;
- Razorpay;
- Banks;
- Payment providers;
- Other applications; or
- Other third-party services.
You must manage those accounts directly with the relevant provider.
26. Security After Deletion
We take reasonable measures to protect information during the deletion process.
However, deletion requests may involve multiple systems and service providers, and no electronic system can guarantee immediate or absolute removal from every technical copy at the exact same moment.
We will take reasonable steps to ensure eligible data is removed from systems under our control in accordance with applicable requirements.
27. Changes to This Data Deletion Policy
We may update this Data Deletion Policy from time to time to reflect:
- Changes to PP Expense;
- Changes to our data architecture;
- New deletion mechanisms;
- Changes to third-party services;
- Changes in applicable law; or
- Changes to our data-retention practices.
The updated version will be published on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date.
