Nothing in this section prevents processing that is required by law, necessary for security or fraud prevention, necessary for service operation, or explicitly authorized by you.
17. Offline-First Data Architecture
PP Expense is designed around an offline-first architecture.
Core financial information can be created, viewed, edited, categorized, analyzed, and managed locally without requiring continuous internet access.
The absence of an internet connection does not prevent the core local expense-management functionality from operating.
However, certain features require internet connectivity, including:
- Google Sign-In
- Google Drive backup and restore
- Subscription or payment verification
- Online support requests
- Advertisements
- Optional analytics and diagnostics
- Other cloud or server-dependent functionality
Therefore, "offline-first" does not mean that every PP Expense feature operates without an internet connection.
18. Data Storage and Retention
18.1 Local Data
Financial information stored locally on your device generally remains there until you:
- Delete the information
- Clear application data
- Use an available data-clearing feature
- Delete your account where applicable
- Uninstall the application
- Otherwise remove the information from your device
Android operating-system behavior, device backup mechanisms, and manufacturer features may affect how application information is retained or restored.
We cannot control independent device-level backups or copies created by your operating system or other applications.
18.2 Google Drive Backups
If you create a backup in Google Drive, the backup may remain in your Google Drive until you delete it or it is otherwise removed through applicable deletion processes.
You should review your Google Drive storage and delete unwanted backups or exported files when they are no longer required.
18.3 Support Information
Support communications may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to:
- Resolve your request
- Maintain support history
- Investigate abuse
- Protect security
- Resolve disputes
- Comply with legal obligations
18.4 Payment and Subscription Information
Certain payment, subscription, accounting, tax, fraud-prevention, or transaction information may need to be retained for legally required or legitimate business purposes.
Where retention is required by law, we may retain relevant information for the period required by law.
19. Account Deletion
If you create or use a PP Expense account, you may request deletion of your account and associated personal information.
Account deletion may be initiated through:
- The applicable account/settings functionality within PP Expense; or
- Our external account-deletion mechanism.
Account Deletion:
https://expense.ppapps.in/legal/account-deletion
Upon a valid deletion request, we will delete or anonymize personal information associated with the account that we control, subject to:
- Applicable legal obligations
- Legitimate security requirements
- Fraud prevention
- Dispute resolution
- Accounting, tax, or payment obligations
- Information that must be retained by law
- Information genuinely outside our control
Local Device Information
Account deletion does not automatically guarantee removal of every copy of information that you independently created or stored outside systems controlled by us.
For example, you may have:
- Exported JSON backups
- Exported CSV files
- Manually copied information
- Created Google Drive backups
- Created device-level backups
You are responsible for deleting copies that you independently control where PP Expense does not technically control those copies.
Where PP Expense controls an associated cloud copy and has the technical ability to delete it, we will process the deletion request accordingly.
20. Data Deletion Requests
You may request deletion of personal information associated with PP Expense.
You may submit a request by contacting:
You may also use our Data Deletion page:

21. Data Export
PP Expense may provide functionality to export your financial information in formats such as:
- JSON
- CSV
- Other formats introduced by the application
Exported information becomes a copy outside the normal PP Expense application environment.
You are responsible for protecting exported files because they may contain sensitive financial information.
We recommend storing exported financial files in a secure location and avoiding unnecessary sharing.
22. Your Privacy Choices
Depending on the features available in your version of PP Expense, you may have choices regarding:
- Whether to use Google Sign-In
- Whether to use Google Drive backup
- Whether to enable automatic cloud backup
- Whether to use subscription services
- Whether to use the ad-supported version
- Whether to enable analytics and diagnostics
- Whether to export your data
- Whether to submit support information
- Whether to delete your account
Some choices may prevent you from using the associated feature.
For example, declining Google Drive authorization means that Google Drive backup and restore functionality may not be available.
23. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights relating to your personal data, which may include:
- Requesting information about personal data processed about you
- Requesting correction of inaccurate personal information
- Requesting deletion or erasure where legally applicable
- Withdrawing consent where processing is based on consent
- Requesting information about how your data is processed

We may request reasonable information to verify your identity before processing certain requests.
24. India Data Protection Laws
Where applicable to our processing activities, we intend to comply with applicable Indian data-protection and privacy requirements, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and applicable rules, regulations, notifications, amendments, and requirements to the extent applicable and in force.
Nothing in this Privacy Policy is intended to exclude or reduce any mandatory rights or protections available to you under applicable law.
25. Security

Depending on the type of information and feature, safeguards may include:
- Local application data isolation
- Android platform security mechanisms
- Access controls
- Authentication mechanisms
- Secure network communication where applicable
- HTTPS/TLS for applicable online transmissions
- Restricted access to systems
- Security monitoring and troubleshooting
- Third-party provider security controls
- Data minimization
- Account and access management
However, no application, network, device, cloud service, or electronic transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Accordingly, while we take reasonable measures to protect information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You are also responsible for maintaining the security of:
- Your Android device
- Device screen lock
- App Lock where enabled
- Google Account
- Google Drive
- Email account
- Exported files
- Backup files
- Payment accounts
26. App Lock and Device Security
PP Expense may provide an application lock or similar security feature.
App Lock is an additional protection mechanism and should not be considered a substitute for:
- Your device screen lock
- Operating-system security
- Google Account security
- Secure backups
- Safe password and authentication practices
We cannot guarantee that App Lock will protect information against every possible form of device compromise, malware, rooted devices, forensic access, operating-system vulnerabilities, or unauthorized physical access.

These may include:
- Google Play
- Google Sign-In
- Google Drive
- Google AdMob

Third-party providers may independently collect and process information under their own terms and privacy policies.
Your use of a third-party service may therefore be subject to that provider's separate policies.
We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of third-party services that you choose to use.
28. International Processing
Some third-party service providers used by PP Expense may process information using infrastructure located outside India or in multiple countries.
As a result, information associated with optional online features may potentially be processed in jurisdictions other than your country of residence.
Where required, such processing will be subject to applicable legal requirements and appropriate safeguards.
Because third-party providers control their own infrastructure, we cannot guarantee that every service provider will process information exclusively within India.
29. Children's Privacy
PP Expense is a general-purpose personal finance application and is not specifically designed to encourage children to provide personal information.
We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children in circumstances where such collection is prohibited by applicable law.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us in violation of applicable law, please contact:
We will review the request and take appropriate action where required.

If we become aware of a security incident involving personal information that requires notification under applicable law, we will take reasonable steps to investigate, contain, remediate, and notify affected users or authorities where legally required.

Your continued use of PP Expense after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective constitutes your acknowledgment of the updated policy, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
34. Severability
If any provision of this Privacy Policy is determined to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be interpreted or modified to the extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.
35. No Waiver of Legal Rights
Nothing in this Privacy Policy is intended to:
- Waive any mandatory legal right
